THREAD-JACKING: Fine by me! If it derails one of the few threads I have significant plans for, I'll drop you a line to work something out, but usually I don't mind at all.
FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: I'd prefer not, because Circle of Magic is not a commonly referenced series, and Tris is a distinctive character.
BACKTAGGING: Yes, of course!
AVOIDED TOPICS: Drop me a warning before bringing up sexual assault
PREFERRED GENDER PRONOUN: She/her

IC CHARACTERISTICS:
CURRENT CANON POINT: post-Will of the Empress, after getting home to Summersea and settling in (with Silna and Harry, post-previous-Barge-stay).
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Tris is about 5'3", and somewhat chubby. She's pale, with grey eyes and red hair that she keeps in many braids of varying thickness. Some of these braids are pinned in patterns on her head, while a couple hang freely. If she is very annoyed/angry, lightning may crackle over her hair. If she's had to use her magic, one or more of the braids may be partially or fully undone.

Wire-framed glasses are a constant fixture on Tris' face. She dresses modestly, typically in long dresses, and wears sensible shoes. Tris is very fastidious about cleanliness, probably washes with unscented or very lightly scented soap, and is unlikely to have dirt under her nails.

Her tone of voice tends to be brisk and businesslike a lot of the time, though if you catch her with animals or children or friendly breezes, that's likely to change. She can also be a bit more gentle with people who are scared. Tris doesn't waste words, and tends to speak properly, usually without much in the way of slang.

DEMEANOR: She occasionally twitches when it's windy or crowded, or just before a natural disaster, but otherwise Tris is pretty unflappable unless you get her angry. Her posture is straight, her default expression is fairly serious, and she walks purposefully. A lot of her grins, when you get them, are challenging in one way or another. She has to be a lot less guarded to offer a soft smile to someone who isn't a stray dog or a young child or the glass dragon she carries perched on her shoulder. (Chime, the dragon, is on the Barge with Tris, and they will almost always be found together. As will a green winged monkey construct and sometimes a fluffy black dog.)

ABILITIES: Tris is a very gifted weather witch. She generally has breezes circulating around her on hot days to keep cool, even if there's otherwise no wind. She has an extra reserve of endurance in the form of tidal force braided into her hair, so she can keep going for days without rest in dire circumstances before she collapses. She can fling lightning around or act as a human lightning rod. Give her a thunderstorm after a period of drought or no weather at all, and you'll probably catch her dancing gleefully in it as lightning strikes the top of her head.

She can hear voices and sounds on the wind, or see images, though she's still working to control the latter. She might get twitchy in a city without her tinted spectacles, with too many images to filter through. Accidental or deliberate eavesdropping is possible, given a breeze. ...And Tris is good enough with manipulating the air around her that even a puff of breath is enough of a breeze to listen in if she has sufficient reason to pry. She doesn't usually go quite that far, but she does enjoy listening to local gossip.

She can see magic without any active effort. She can also (though she rarely tries to) sense generalities about the status of people around her. She can feel people's energy reserves, magical or otherwise. She can feel very general impressions of their moods. Their locations. Whether they're awake or asleep. This requires concentration and isn't used nearly as often as her other abilities.

If it's raining, Tris can part the rain overhead so it doesn't fall on her (or on anyone around her). Her control is good enough that she can manage that protection over a whole group of people without ever putting down her book. She can move weather patterns, but won't unless she's sure it won't cause flooding or drought somewhere. Tris can wield heat from magma, unleash a hurricane or a bit of earthquake she's carrying with her, and is in general, though very careful and ethically-minded, a force of nature.

MEDICAL INFORMATION: occasional minor aches from old injuries; prone to headaches due to her magic

CABIN INFORMATION: Tris' cabin door is a simple but well-made wooden one. The most significant detail about it is an intricate iron number six. There may be traces of magic visible on it, protective spells.

The interior is a two-floor house with no modern appliances anywhere in it. The walls are white-washed, the curtains are neatly sewn, and absolutely everything is well dusted and swept. Tris plays housekeeper to her siblings at home, since she's the worst off member of the family financially. The kitchen or dining room are the common rooms Tris is most likely to invite you into if she knows you well, and she'll have you at a table with food or juice in front of you in no time. Anything more formal gets directed to the sitting room.

There's also a small forge attached to the house. Tris has all the common areas of the house, but Briar's room opening out onto the garden and the second floor where Daja lives are both missing.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Tris hates the use of magic for violence. She doesn't take kindly to classism. She has strong feelings about responsibility, and about kindness to animals and children.

IC PERMISSIONS:
MENTAL: Yes! Chat with me if it's going to go anywhere that has lasting impact on my character.
MIMICRY: Yep. I do want a link so I can be informed!
VIOLENCE: Sure, but Tris isn't fond of fighting and will probably do her best to scramble back and fling lightning at you or sink you partway into the ground or knock you over with a gust of wind. (Not lethal lightning, generally, but any lightning at all isn't a fun experience.)
MAGIC: Fine by me, but aggressive magic will, again, typically be met with lightning.
DEBATE: Of course!
OTHER / NOTES: I will basically always check first before Tris uses her magic against another character, but be aware that if she's attacked, she will. Also be aware that she's likely to interact with the setting/environment. Errant winds and weather manipulation are likely around Tris, but she won't ever use it harmfully enless threatened. Sometimes not even then. And she does eavesdrop. She also has a temper.
